Principal’s Report
Staff Moderation Day – Friday 7 June
Last week, staff spent the professional learning day working with Exeter Primary School, moderating student work samples to align with the Australian Curriculum standards. Our Teacher Assistants worked alongside Exeter’s staff to undertake professional learning in Reading. Our Kinder staff worked together focused on the Kindergarten Development Checks and the Early Years Learning Framework. This day is very valuable for staff to collaborate with other schools.
Mid-Year Reporting – Family Partnership Conversations
We place high value on family partnerships and the role you play in your child’s education. As such, reporting conversations will be available during Week 9 and 10 of Term 2. This is an opportunity to share information about your child and discuss their academic, social, and emotional development.
The online booking system is now open for appointments to be made with your child’s Class Teacher. Bookings will be available from 24 June – 4 July. Please use the link provided to make your booking, alternatively ring the school office for support. https://beaconsfieldps.schoolzineplus.com/view-session/11
Student Voices Workshops
Selected students in Years 1-4 have been involved in a workshop facilitated by Communities for Children aimed at capturing student voice. The emphasis of the workshop was about peer and school belonging and what students need to feel connected. We think the children are the best people to tell us about what they like about their community and what they would like to see in the community. We look forward to hearing their collective voices on completion of the project. Thank you to Sorayah and Emily from Communities for Children for working with our students.
Swimming Program in PE
It was great to commence our Swimming Program as a part of our regular timetable PE lessons. Preps have spent time focused on water familiarisation, whilst other students are building their confidence in the water and stroke development. Thank you to families for supporting their children to be organised with their gear for these lessons.
